Religious
The Islamic Center of St. Thomas, USVI is committed to fulfilling the spiritual and religious needs of its Muslim community by educating its members about their religious rites and providing high quality religious services.
These services include:
- Daily Prayer: Masjid Nur is open daily for all five prayers. Local Adan times calculate the start time for Fajr (Dawn), Shurooq (Sunrise), Dhuhr (Noon), Asr (Afternoon), Maghrib (Sunset), and Ishaa (Night). We are open 7 days a week from 5:30am to 9:00pm.
- Friday Prayers: Friday prayers (juma' a) are provided on a weekly basis. Prominent religious speakers and leaders of our community regularly provide the Friday sermon (Khutba) and lead the prayer. The Friday prayer begins with the Khutba at 1 :00 p.m. and concludes with the prayer at 1:30 p.m.
- Eid Celebrations: Masjid Nur provides annual celebrations of the two Islamic Eids (Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr). The celebration starts with the Eid prayer followed by the sermon, and concludes with a congregation get togethers and sharing or sweets.
- Ramadan Program: Ramadan is the highlight of the Center's spiritual and religious activities. Masjid Nur offers daily gatherings for Iftar, followed by Maghrib prayer, Quranic recitations, religious sermon, and concluded with Isha'a and Taraweeh prayers.
